Gerald Nestler is an artist and writer who combines theory and conversation with intervention, performance, video, installation, sound and speech. He also develops and curates formats for postdisciplinary collaboration between art and other fields of expertise. His research focuses on the derivative condition of technocapitalism, a performative and data-driven mode whose power to claim the future derives to a great extent from financial models, technologies, and narratives. Gerald has exhibited, published, and lectured widely on art, finance and technology. He graduated from the Academy of fine arts Vienna and holds a PhD from the Centre for Research Architecture, Goldsmiths, University of London, where he was a researcher at Forensic Architecture.
